1. What makes the International Travel Exchange (ITE) booking engine unique?
Online airfare shopping can be overwhelming due to a fragmented marketplace of hundreds of airlines and thousands of travel agencies. ITE simplifies this by searching over 125 consolidators, airlines, and major travel websites simultaneously. Our interface provides objective, unbiased results, giving you access to private "consolidator" fares that are often hidden from the general public.
2. What are consolidator or "bulk" airline tickets?
Consolidator tickets are high-volume, discounted fares sold by airlines to wholesalers to help fill seats. These "bulk" fares are typically significantly lower than the standard published prices found directly on airline websites. ITE provides access to over 2,000,000 consolidator fares from 60 global carriers.
3. How do I book and confirm my flight?
- Search: Use 3-digit IATA airport codes (e.g., ACC, JFK, CDG) or city names on our request page.
- Select: Review search results across our database and select the flight that matches your itinerary.
- Payment: Provide traveler details and payment. Note: A Credit Card Authorization Form is required for transactions over $1,500, one-way tickets, or if billing verification fails.
- Confirmation: Your seat is only officially confirmed once you receive a confirmation number and Electronic Ticket (E-ticket) via email, typically within one business day.
4. What is an E-ticket and how do I use it?
An E-ticket is a paperless entry in the airline’s system. You will receive a confirmation number via email.
- At the Airport: Present your confirmation number and a valid government-issued photo ID (Passport for international travel) at the check-in counter to receive your boarding pass.
- Security: E-tickets cannot be lost. If you misplace your confirmation number, the airline can usually locate your file using your flight number and name.
5. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Credit/Debit Cards.
- Currency: All transactions are processed in US or Canadian Dollars. International banks will convert the charge to your local currency at their prevailing exchange rate.
- Regional Restriction: Currently, ITE accepts credit card payments only from residents of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
6. When will I receive my ticket?
Most E-tickets are issued within 1–2 business days. In rare cases where an airline does not support electronic ticketing, a paper ticket will be issued and sent via FedEx. We will contact you directly to verify the shipping address in these instances.
7. What are the policies regarding names and changes?
- Strict Name Policy: Tickets must be issued in the exact name as it appears on the traveler’s Passport or Government ID. Nicknames or aliases will result in boarding denial.
- Changes & Penalties: Confirmed bookings are subject to heavy restrictions. Change fees often exceed $300, and many consolidator fares are non-refundable.
